OHIO RADIOGRAPHER RENEWAL

Ohio radiographer renewal.
Know what counts.

What you need

  • Renew your Ohio radiographer license every two years by your birthday
  • 24 qualifying CE credits, or evidence of current ARRT certification and good standing with its CE requirements
  • A separate Ohio renewal application following your renewal notice’s instructions

What’s included

  • 24.75 ARRT Category A credits
  • Radiography, radiation safety and patient care topics
  • One open-book exam and a certificate after you pass

Use these credits toward your ARRT CE, then complete your ARRT and Ohio renewal steps.

Ohio’s ARRT evidence pathway

Rule 3701-72-02(K) accepts proof of current ARRT certification and good standing with ARRT’s CE requirements for radiographer renewal.

This guide uses that credential-evidence pathway. If you renew with individual CE certificates, confirm separate Ohio activity approval and license-category suitability before relying on this course.

Before you renew

  1. Check both deadlines. Your Ohio license expires on your birthday every two years. Your ARRT CE completion and renewal deadlines follow a separate schedule. Check your Ohio license and ARRT account.
  2. Complete and report your ARRT CE. ARRT’s standard biennial CE requirement for radiographers is 24 Category A or A-plus credits. Follow the ARRT CE instructions . Approved online and self-study activities can count; the same self-study activity cannot earn repeat credit within one biennium.
  3. Renew separately with Ohio. ODH sends a renewal notice by mail or email at least 30 days before expiration. Follow its application, payment and return instructions, including the current ARRT certification evidence requested. Submit your renewal by the Ohio license expiration date.
  4. Save your records. Download your completion certificate and keep your own copy. ARRT requires proof of CE participation for five years under its CE documentation rules .

This guide focuses on Ohio radiographers using current ARRT certification. General X-ray machine operators, dental professionals, nuclear medicine technologists and radiation therapists have different licensing or content requirements. Confirm your license category and renewal instructions using Ohio’s current renewal rule .
